    Default Java Books

    Good evening gentleman, I`m really sorry if I post in the wrong section.
    I will start by saying that I want to learn the java programming language , and I was wondering what books one would recommend ?
    I know that "Thinking in Java" is a pretty famous series, but some of the books are old, and I don`t know if it would benefit me now.

    Any suggestions ?

    This question has been asked so many times that getting answers will be difficult. Hopefully, a mod here can point you to an existing decent thread or sticky that has been created and maintained to easily provide a comprehensive answer this question.

    Hi guys,

    Thinking in Java is obsolete. I think Head First Java or Java, A Beginner Guide is more appropriate.
