What ebooks to read to help learn java

Hello all, my job has a lot of down time so I bring my nexus7 tablet.
Is there any good books I could download that will help a beginner like me to learn java?
I can't really pack around a laptop to practice with but I can do examples when I'm back at home.
I want to read on on my tablet so I can try to learn.
Free would be awesome but not required.
Good books that will h me learn and not be a time waister,

On the other hand which has nothing to do with coding. How about just a good book to read?
I like books with fantasy, so magic is good. Game of thrones, the hobbit, LOTR,

This question has been asked and answered many times, and the only person who can answer the question is you. Search for books online. Try out the free ones or the samples for the ones you have to pay for and pick the one you like.

As you've already suggested, you can't learn a skill like programming by reading about it. You must code every example and do every exercise to gain the maximum benefit from a book. You will obtain zero programming ability solely by reading about programming. Without practice, you'll learn just as much about programming by reading the fantasy books you prefer.
