Thread: Seeking Java programming exercises examples for a new programmer

I am helping to tutor a young college student who wants to be a programmer. His college uses Java as the primary language. I have purchased the book "Java A Beginner's Guide 8th Edition" by Herbert Schildt. It has a few exercises in the book but not many. I'm looking to see if there is a good website that has lots of very basic exercises that we can use for him to practice. Just basic stuff like practicing for loops, if statements, while loops, etc.

I appreciate any suggestions that you may have.

just go on to world 3 com schools and java link. It gives you the very basics of java. Take quizzes on it. And also take exams for $95 dollars online exam. 75 questions. 75% passing. Twice to take. If you pass you get a certificate of which they send that to you. Easy website to learn on. Not sure if the exam has a time limit.
