    Our client created an innovative and effective language-learning application, which combines mnemonics & gamification to help users learn quickly and efficiently. It’s carefully paced learning structure and competitive points system is believed to make their site more effective than other language-learning tools. Backed by two of the tech industry’s renowned investors, this venture comprises creative ground-breaking thinkers from 9 nationalities all with a passion for what they do and the experience to drive it to success.

    The Opportunity:
    Therefore, we’re looking for an independent, creative, smart and enthusiastic Android Developer to join them. With a passion for working in dynamic, startup environments, you will have a real love for technology and are in this business because it's challenging and rewarding. You’ll have a genuine desire to join a small fast growth venture with big plans for growth & success. As Android Developer, You will take complete ownership of the development of the company’s Android application.

You’ll be expected to take complete ownership of whatever you are doing, and apply 100% of your brainpower & expertise whilst enjoying their fantastic office space. For those well-deserved moments of de-stressing you can either cook up a storm in their amazing kitchen, tickle the ivories on the baby grand or just chill with the cat.

    The Senior Android Developer is responsible for the following:
    • Complete ownership of our Client’s Android app: technical design and implementation
    • Prolific creation of robust and highly maintainable code
    • Working closely with Product and Engineering leads to roadmap new features
    • Ensuring the highest quality across all supported devices
    • Demonstrating best practice in use of testing and version control
    • Reporting to the CTO

    Required skills and experience:
    • 2-3 years’ experience of Android development
    • Android enthusiast! If you don’t own an Android how can you be an enthusiast?
    • At least 2 Android apps from scratch live on Google Play
    • Expert in Java and all common Android frameworks, especially UI
    • Actual experience with other programming languages - big advantage
    • Knowledge of version control systems (git etc,)
    • Experience in startups
    • Contribution to open source
    • Up to date with up-and-coming technologies and best practices (for the Android platform)
    • Love for cats!
    • A sense of humour and fun
