Hello, need some advice.
I am currently a COBOL programmer (30+ years) retired Marine Master Sergeant. I will remain a COBOL programmer but I want to enhance my abilitys by learning JAVA, but where to begin? The company I work for offers online courses in java script, java 1.2 java 2.5, java web services as well as advanced courses. Can anyone adivse me where the best place to start would be?

The best place to start is Oracle's tutorials. They're the first thing that shows up when you google "java tutorials".
