    Default Hi everyone i need some help

    first of all i want to thanks to this great site and the people that willing to help.
    So we start to learn the basics of objects and classes and i did a simple code.
    the method get a string of a car model(from the main) and compare if it is a"ford" and the method need to print the 'new' value of firma ="ford".but it always return "null".what have i done wrong?;]
    public class Car {
    int price;
    String firma;	
     
    	public void getfirma(String firm){
     
     
    		if(firm=="ford"){
    		firma=firm;}
    	System.out.println(firma);
    	}
    }

    Don't use the comparison operator, '==', to determine the equality of String objects. Use the equals method, e.g.:

    if ( thisString.equals( thatString ) )

    First thing's first: firm=="ford" is not correct. Strings (like all objects) should be compared using the .equals() method, not double equals. So, instead, you want: firm.equals("ford")

    Change that and see what happens.
