    Hi, I'm currently taking my first java class at university. I hope to get some help with some problems I am having and eventually get good enough at java to start helping as well

    Well, greetings!

    However, I strongly advice to try and solve significantly more problems than you get in university - i.e. not to wait when problems find you, but prepare yourself for them. It is the only comfortable way, especially if you are Computer Science student. Of course it is not as important if java classes are auxiliary for your education.
