    Default Noob to Java

    Hi All,

I sincerely hope that I am posting at the right place. I have been dabbling with programming for quite some time, messing around with Delphi mostly, as its the language we were taught in at school.

I know some of the basics, and have even developed some very useful apps that is being used by quite a few people.

I am imploring the guru's of the Java world to please help me out.

I want to pretend to be a noob, and pretend I know nothing of programming ( my reason for this is that I have developed some very bad habits in my programming style ) Can anyone please direct me at some tutorials, books and a compiler?

Please anything that is free will be greatly appreciated, as my currency is very weak against those of the rest of the world, and for me to buy books/software online is hectically expensive.

I have several compilers already that i have downloaded, yet i want the input and advise of you guys who have been working with this kind of thing.

If the post is redundant admin please forgive me. Thank you in advance guys, I will really appreciate any feedback, even if you tell me to bugger off

There are many on YouTube, such as:

    Brandonio Productions - YouTube
    thenewboston - YouTube

In terms of compilers, there are numerous different ones and any one should suffice your needs. The one that I use in particular is NetBeans, although Eclipse is also very good and widely used.
