    Helo folks, kindly give me some guidance as to how to manipulate(copy part and save in an excel file) a text file.

    the text file contain figures arranged in a table form. i want to pick some, add them and save the result in an excell file.

    Look at the methods of the String class for manipulating Strings read from a text file.

    What kind of excell file are you writing to? csv files are text and could be written from a java program. Other kinds of files could require third party packages.
