    Exclamation Need some serious advice

    Hello,

i want to know the way to gather experience on application developing on a real platform. I am a plain graduate with a diploma in computers, and then i have done Java-J2EE with EJB.
And now i want to pursue a career as J2EE application developer. I don't have any further experience in Java-J2EE field except that I teach Java in school level (which is of no use that i know).
Now am i day dreaming?? is my not having a BTech pose an issue?? does being an SCJP help me??
In most job portals, the companies need experienced/BE/BTech freshers.
Is it impossible for me to become a J2EE application developer??
Please some one tell me how should i proceed and prepare myself to fufill my dream, I really really love to work in this arena. And i honestly want to work, literally.

It's catch 22. You can't get a job without experience, but you can't get experience without a job.

I think as long as you can show your passion for the language and back it up with strong coding examples, anything is possible. I would say that passing an exam such as the SCJP will help greatly in your application for the position. The more you can prove you have a strong understanding of the language, the less important experience becomes.

I would take on as many projects as possible and build a portfolio of your work.

You should try for the SCJP Exam. But before this try mock exams, they will give you confidence before SCJP exam. If you get less percentage in mock exams you should not get down because the real exam is much easier compared to mock exams.
