    Default Spreadsheet Software

    Hi everyone.

I am very new here, my name is Alborz. I am a student learning Java and I happened to run into someone today at a nail spa (don't ask!)

Anyway, he was in business, and said if as a programmer I was able to create a software that would be an executable and be able to create spreadsheets like Excel does, but in a more user-integrated and business-accomidated way, such as accounting software, I would go huge!

What are your thoughts on this?

Is there really not that many good programmers out there working on spreadsheet software? Is the business market that high in demand?

    Sincerely,

    A newbie, and questioning man.

I'm not sure about your other questions, but here at JPF is probably a better place to discuss Java / future IT / world problems than at your nail spa. Then again, a nail spa is probably quite a nice place to hang out for reasons other than Java insights.

Yeah, be a programmer - you could be rich! Google was a student project that went huge. Facebook is the same as a gazillion other sites who didn't go huge. It's very hard to say what people will pay a lot of money for by the time that you're ready to write it, but as Edna Mode said: "Luck favours the prepared".
