# Thread: need help with my homework !

1. ## need help with my homework !

im new to programming and im having lots of problems and my hw is due today and i just cant understand anything i been going over i am rethinking if this is the career i want to pursue but my instructor is not as good as i wish i learn more from youtube than him if anyone can make me the code for this problem i would appreciate it a lot

An ISBN-10 (International Standard Book Number) consists of 10 digits:

d subscript 1 d subscript 2 d subscript 3 d subscript 4 d subscript 5 d subscript 6 d subscript 7 d subscript 8 d subscript 9 d subscript 10

The last digit d subscript 10 is a checksum, which is calculated from the other nine digits using the following formula:

left parenthesis d subscript 1 cross times 1 plus d subscript 2 cross times 2 plus d subscript 3 cross times 3 plus d subscript 4 cross times 4 plus d subscript 5 cross times 5 plus d subscript 6 cross times 6 plus d subscript 7 cross times 7 plus d subscript 8 cross times 8 plus d subscript 9 cross times 9 right parenthesis % 11

If the checksum is 10, the last digit is denoted as X according to ISBN conventions.
Examples:
Enter the first nine digits of an ISBN as an integer:013601267
0136012671
Enter the first nine digits of an ISBN as an integer:013031997
013031997X

Nobody here is going to write the code for you, but if you have already started on the exercise you can post your code here, as well as any questions you have, and perhaps somebody can help you make any progress.
