    Default please someone should help me

    i am very new to java.i have tried to set my path on windows 8,but it keeps giving me errors.please i need assistance.
    this is the setting of my JAVA_HOME ;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk 1.7.0\bin; and it keeps giving me errors

    Try testing at the command prompt if the JDK/JRE are installed
    on your machine first. There is plenty of documentation to help
    you
