Thread: Newbie is stuck and please be patient and let me tell my story. No one else will help me

I have been having problems with my old, but still running computer, and got a virus. When the virus cleared and my computer was restored, I lost Java and Shockwave. Now I do not have Java at all on my computer. A friend suggests Reimage. That was great until it needed to clear and clean up all the things that were missing it cost $29.95. Was used once then went to use it again to fix Java and they wanted to charge me $69.95 for a year. In order to get a refund and fix Java I had to remove it and put in the state it was before the program. Java is on my computer now but says that it can not install with the ( jre1.7.0_40-c msi ) file.. The installer says it is missing. I am trying to get the latest Java Version 7 Update 51. I have been everywhere and also the Java in my control Panels ADD-Remove programs will not remove.

I always just went here for Java. Does that not work?

I have been to several other sites and the people were rude and told me I did not belong. Well I am 65 years old a photographer and Java won't work after I try to install it because it says I am missing the ("jre1.7.0_40-c msi" file). The Java's that are on my ADD-REMOVE programs will not come off either. I have searched all four of my hard drives and the only one that has any Java is "C" in the program files under Java and in the "C" local settings,me and then APPs. I just want some simple help from people, my neighbor said were genius when it came to Java so hear I am. The Java site itself has seen me with and without my firewalls and Virus software. Literally leaving me wide open.....

Please describe exactly what you're trying to install and your operating system name/version and characterize the error message as best you can, copy and paste it directly into a post, if possible. Installing Java does not require any other files, so your error is confusing, but we probably don't understand exactly what you're trying to do.
