Default detect browser states on java socket

I have made a server program using java socket, in which user hits my url and in response I am sending continous
stream of data which is changing at user browser.
if user closes the browser or open a new tab then that stream of data should be stopped.
My concern is ,how to detect any event if user close their browser or change the tab.
