        public static void main(String[] args) {

            Parent obj1 = new Parent();
            Parent obj2 = new Child();

            System.out.println("obj1 instanceof Parent: "
                + (obj1 instanceof Parent));
            System.out.println("obj1 instanceof Child: "
                + (obj1 instanceof Child));
            System.out.println("obj1 instanceof MyInterface: "
                + (obj1 instanceof MyInterface));
            System.out.println("obj2 instanceof Parent: "
                + (obj2 instanceof Parent));
            System.out.println("obj2 instanceof Child: "
                + (obj2 instanceof Child));
            System.out.println("obj2 instanceof MyInterface: "
                + (obj2 instanceof MyInterface));
        }
    }

    class Parent {}
    class Child extends Parent implements MyInterface {}
    interface MyInterface {}

    It errors with: Error: Could not find or load main class ArithmeticDemo

    This was part of a previous example I'd pasted in, but its not in the new code, so it shouldnt be looking for it?

    How are you compiling and running this? What file is this code located in?

    The class containing main has to be in a file with the same name as the class. You either need to rename InstanceofDemo to Testcode, or rename your Testcode.java file to InstanceofDemo.java.

    However, the error you listed mentions yet another class, so I'd take a closer look at what you're running and compiling if I were you.
