    Lightbulb Introducing myself

I am an older chap [just had my 80th birthday], have been a software nerd since the mid '60s, mainly loved "programming to the metal" as we used to call it, using assembly/machine language to access the basic CPU and memory of the machine. I am not very good at abstract thinking so I have from the beginning not done well with any object oriented concepts: c++, advanced Java, etc. Have a BA in math and economics, MSc Computer Science, and some work toward a PhD in Systems Engineering, then 25 years teaching Computer Science/Computer Programming at the local College, been retired for 25 years. Major hobbies have been roller blading, riding IronHead motorcycles, hiking and off-roading with my Jeep Wrangler. Got into Android programming several years ago. Have a few free Apps in Google Play

Welcome Mick. We have a lot in common: same age, same education levels, same machine language programming background.
I didn't teach although I enjoyed being a teaching assistant at university. My Android programming started about 6 years ago.
I have a few apps on Github: https://github.com/NormR?tab=repositories

Interesting similarities! I also moderate an internet forum - XLForum, for vintage Harley Davidson "IronHead" motorcycles
