Hello, found this forum after it seems the forum I joined many moons ago is no longer around. Pretty much a noob to Java, though I've done C and assembly programming for a long time, mostly for embedded 68K/ARM. Last year I dusted off my Java knowledge enough to make an emulator for a Heathkit ET-3400A microcomputer. I had one a long time ago, and was regretting that I had sold it after refurbishing it. Found a group where some folks had written some emulators for Windows, but they had some limitations and a couple of bugs, so I challenged myself to write one in Java.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get more familiar with Swing. I'm an amateur radio operator, and found there's a growing number of radio amateurs who like to use Linux, but are limited in what software is available for contest logging. Seems like it would be another worthwhile challenge to write a logging program in Java, which at least a few other hams have expressed an interest.
