    Post Brand new programmer :)

I'm happy to be here and have selected Java as my official programming language to master. After much thought, research and consulting with others, well - it didn't take long for me to choose Java. I used Java growing up and have seen and heard about it so much. I'm tempted and curious to learn all languages but my main focus is going to be with Java.

I'm twenty-four years old and need a new career. I have mostly retail, restaurant, and sales experience, with some healthcare and clerical experience as well, so this is all brand new to me in terms of my work experience. I'm curious to hear what got you guys interested in programming and what brought you to Java as well. I must say, besides job security, the main thing is the unlimited and creative possibilities with Java. I've become a lot more creative now for several reasons and I find limitations to be boring and enraging. I know we have to follow the code like we follow gravity, but the possibilities compared to my current employment seem endless. I hope that this energy to learn doesn't die as I know I have a long road ahead.

Thank you for allowing me to join your community and I'll enjoy reading your posts I'm sure!

    Aw great introduction post!

Welcome to the forum - I hope you have a great time here

I've been programming since I was seven (began with ASM for the C64) and have learnt
C, a fair amount of C++ and the ADA language. Java is my first "fully" OOP language, so I am
having a great time learning it.

    Wishes Ada xx
