Thread: Greetings from Dale in Oklahoma

Greetings,

I'm new to the forum, having discovered it searching for a place to post OOP questions. I'm passionate about OOP and love to discuss ideas and views on how to implement good object-oriented design in applications. I don't find many good places online to have those discussions but discovered this site looking for an answer to a question today. I hope to have a lot of fun discussing OOP with the group here - and Java as well.

I'm relatively new to Java. I've played with it off and on over the years but have never had a position programming in Java. I've spent the past 10+ years doing .Net development and .Net application architecture. It seemed that every year I would get frustrated with something or another in the Microsoft world and promise myself I was going to move into Java and UNIX. Well, after many failed starts, I finally moved into a java role in my company so I am really diving deeply into OOP and best practices in Java now.
