    Default Managing an embedded database

Any tips on how to manage an embedded database, incase any problems occur? I'm running a java application with apache derby and what I see in the database folder is a .lck file and some other stuff. Can I use a program to edit the database manually in case of any problems?

Default Re: Managing an embedded database

Manage how? With the apps I've written that rely on Derby as an embedded DB, I've also written a small console type app that I use to manually query the DB (pretty easy thing to write and at the time seemed faster than searching for an alternative). I'm not sure if there are other apps like SQLDeveloper that you can use with Derby to do so.
