    Default Guitar Tablature

Hi, i am working on a project for college that displays guitar tablature when the user types in a note. I want to have a graphical interface showing a guitar fretboard on the screen and when the user types in a note as a string, it displays it on the fretboard. Would someone know what would be the best way to go about creating and displaying the graphical interface. I was looking into Java FX but not sure. I really appreciate any help. Thanks
