Default Can't run my JDK on windows 8.1

Does anyone know how to open my JDK on windows 8.1 I click on Java Control Panel and click on the java icon. When I do, the command prompt rapidly appears and then disappears. Thanks in advance.

You don't run the JDK from an icon in the Control panel. I don't know why there is a problem with that icon.

If the JDK is installed, there should be a bin folder inside the installation folder that contains the javac.exe file that is used for compiling java programs.
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
