    Default Cross-posting

I am new to java, and these forums etc., and I've seen a few people get called out for posting their questions on more than one site. I'm just wondering why this is such a bad thing? It seems to me you post on two sites and get twice as many answers, and different points of views... but it's taboo here?

It's not taboo, but you should always link all threads you have created anywhere. This way users can check what replies you already have gotten, before typing a lengthy reply. It's a waste of time to post the same answer that has been given in another forum.
