Hi, I need some suggestions, more solid ones for choosing a research topic. I'm in my final year and I could opt to read over papers to support existing research paper or expand on an existing research topic (from papers of cousre I need to look up through ACM digital library), and then implement it. I'm interested in AI (such as game trees/alpha-beta pruning, minimax algorithms but not familiar with graphics programming just Swing GUI and some applets in Java), mobile society, algorithms, networks, computer modelling, animation, using educational programming language and its ability to teach first year comp sci/software engineering students (Scratch, Greenfoot, Alice), Turing machines, balance between human and computer interventions (such as autopilot for commercial airliners for carrying out repetitive tasks but give pilot back control for unexpected events such as landing on ice runway), Any help appreciated. I have been looking into cs4fn website for interesting use of computer science. My prof says just to skim over papers after I have a topic of interest. I'm stuck...I'll keep looking up though...
