JDK + Netbeans for XP Home
How ? Can only download JDK 7u3 from oracle site and its not running. Don't think it is compatable with XP Home. Is my OS too old ? I had JDK 6 i think it was running with netbeans absolutely fine but i had to wipe my computer. Now that JDK version is obviously wiped.

You might be offered something else, the server might be tailoring the page for your browser. I think Java 7 ought to be okay on XP ... not sure. You're certainly likely to benefit from less and less free help from people suffering similar pain, as your software stays up to date and your OS slips into the mists of time. If your PC is up to it, you could always try Ubuntu. I have an old Windows XP install from a long-dead laptop preserved as a VirtualBox guest on my Ubuntu PC.
