Java: convert double to binary

I tried to convert a double with 15 decimal places to binary with the usual method of mod and div, but doesnt work. Any suggestions?

Ok , i used the following function

Java Code:

Long.toBinaryString(Double.doubleToRawLongBits(output))

In the result I am getting, I do not see a decimal sign, also there are additional binary digitsin the beginning of the output, which is not supposed to be there.

Note: I have a java applet that converts numbers to binary. Hence I know the answer is wrong

That looks OK. Can you please post your entire code. Something I can attempt to compile..
