    Wink Hello guys and gals.

The names Joe, I'm pretty new to programming, only started doing it in the past year so I'm gonna need this forum for when there is a problem I just can't solve in java. I'm going to be doing Computer Science at university next academic year and all of the unis start off with java so I need as good a start as possible methinks. Im sure most of the other people doing CS started programming games like aged 8 or something like that

    w00t!

Haha, don't worry, I started when I was 15 with HTML and CSS, then one year max doing some PHP (just checking out how and what) I could not make a website out of PHP all by myself yet. When I was 17 I started to learn it because of my study which is CS in your country. Well, that my start.

I am now 20 and I just started a month ago with Java, but because I have a background with OOP ( PHP5 and C# ) I'm getting it fast. But that's just a little advantage. Its not that hard to learn Java, you need to understand OO-programming and learn Java syntax. If you have a little background with other strongly typed languages like C# or something similar it goes even faster
