    Default Hi to all

I am new to this forum.

Retired since 2017 and have a lot of free time to start programming all my ideas. BUT I do not know if Java is the correct way to start.

I have done some programming in MsAccess but with the limits I am stuck.
I did a program (for Railways) where you,
    1) Register all railway track assets
    2) Register condition assessment inspections
    3) Register safety inspections
    4) Do jobcards
    5) Register all emergency breakdowns of the track.

I wish to know if I learn Java can I do all this programming in Java.
I am not that clever as all of you so I don't want to learn Java and then later find I waste my time.

I hope this make sense. I will appreciate all your feedback
    Thanks
    Arrie

You can start with the tutorials linked in my signature below. As you progress on the language you will determine if it meets your requirements. But you can do many things in Java including graphics and thread programming. But I assure you that learning Java would not be a waste of time.

    Regards,
    Jim
