    Default Data Gathering Java Program

Hello everyone, I am new here and came with a question.

I have learned a little bit of Java in class before but would like to learn more and possibly start focusing on the language a bit more now that i have summer break.

I would like to create a program that gathers Data from a web page and sends it back and then from there i can display certain parts of the information retrieved.

Does anyone know how i can start i am currently planning on using Eclipse IDE.

I know i have to start with some sort of Network class but would appreciate if anyone could point me towards the right direction in order to accomplish what I am trying to do.

    Thank you very much

    See the following tutorial: http://www.javaprogrammingforums.com...bsite-url.html
Once you have the source, you will need to parse the data to get the information you want, either through string manipulations or regular expressions

Thank you i will definitely read through those two links and see if I can make this work.

The idea is kind of like going to a website searching for an item and retrieving the price.
