    Default Help with jdk/Java software

Hi, I'm new, so I'm not sure if this thread belongs here, but I have been having a problem with my java software(JDK and JRE and the IDE) to where it is hindering my programs. What is occurring is that I can only download the JDK updates, and when I do, the effects do not take place. I cannot see any applets in any of my browsers and when I tried to install Netbeans, it said that there was a problem installing Java. If I have the JDK already installed and I want to reinstall it, I get an error saying "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." even though the prompt before says that the software has already been installed on my computer and asks if I would like to reinstall it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hello IpodHero,

Have you tried completely uninstalling Java?
I would uninstall everything, then download the latest version.
