    Default Opening Old Java Applet

I wrote a basic Java Applet back in college (2006) and starting several years ago it no longer opens when I double click the .htm file. Is there anything I can do to get this to open? I no longer have access to the editor to be able to edit the code. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It just opens to a black screen now and I believe my screen was black with a green overlay. Thank you.

Several browsers no longer support Applets. What browser are you using?
I've found that IE on Win10 will open an applet after several security questions.
Also it may be necessary to put the html page's address in the whitelist in the Control Panel's Java control Security tab.

Have you tried opening it in the JDK's appletviewer?
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.

I've tried on IE 11, Chrome, and Fire Fox, but I don't think Fire Fox supports Java anyway. I wasn't aware about the appletviewer so I'll see if I can find that and give it a try
