    Default Java Contracting

    Hi,

I was just wondering how many years of experience you should have in Java before thinking about going into contracting? How much could I expect to get when starting out (in UK?)

    Thanks,
    Jack

If you're talking about freelancing (where you work for yourself instead of for a contracting company), then experience matters much less than your portfolio. People won't hire you unless you can show them a collection of things you've done for yourself or for other people.

By the way, I'm going to move this to the cafe, since it's not a question specific to programming.
