    yes that makes sense. And how do I use the debugger in eclipse? Because there is a debug button but all that allows me to do is to change the program while its running.

    I believe the short answer to your question is that you have to add a breakpoint before you start debugging (that way the program knows where to stop so you can look at it step by step). The actual answer is to do some googling of "eclipse debugging tutorial".

    I'm not going to mix topics, and I'm not interested in further debating it. Trying some stuff is not the same as going through the tutorial and asking a specific question (with an SSCCE). If you want people to work to help you, then you have to work to make it easy for people to help you (giving you some code to copy and paste is not helping). If you don't feel like working to make it easier for people to help you, that's fine, but you just can't expect other people to work harder on your programs than you do.
