Need some help with a little project, i'm a noob.

Hi all, I'm looking to start a small and, hopefully, basic project. I have source code from an outdated bot for a computer drag racing game (Nitto Legends, if anyone's heard of it). The code is old and outdated, but there is one part of it that works extremely well; a captcha decoder. What I am wanting to do is pull the source code for the decoder out of the entire programs code, and build a very simple program with the decoder source code. Fair enough, right? Well, I have little to no experience with java, and was hoping some of you guys could help me along with this project. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks.
