Did you try it? What happened?
it runs:
computers
omputersc
mputersco
puterscom
uterscomp
terscompu
erscomput
rscompute
scomputer
computers
but i dont want computers to be outputted twice
What is controlling how many times it prints? Look at the for loop statement. Change that so it loops the correct number of times.
I changed the i = 0 to i = 1, it looked like it did it. Thank you so much for your help.
Pettsa, do not report your own post in order to get moderator attention. That just creates more work for us and makes you seem impatient and rude, which actually decrease your chances of getting help. Consider this a warning.
Lol, I find that ironic. He wants this thread deleted because he is getting badgered about it. If you are a mod/administrator, then I'm pretty sure it's your duty to oblige him since this forum is severely lacking in the ability for a user to control their own thread. And if you're asking yourself how I know the first part, is because I'm one of the people who are badgering him about it.
Actually, he reported it begging more people for help, despite the extremely patient help he's already received by Norm. He didn't mention anything about deleting or modifying his thread.
Users do indeed have the ability to edit their threads, so I'm really unsure about what you're getting at here.
Why are people badgering him about deleting this thread?
Unless he reported it a second time, he said to delete it. (I should know, I told him how to report a thread and I was there)
By that I meant delete their own threads, hell even lock their own.
Because of his in-ability to ask people around him and completely sounding like he has absolutely no idea what he is doing or at least, very little idea. But other than that, the conversation between the two is just plain funny.
Ah, right you are. I misread the report, my fault. Consider the warning retracted, with apologies.
I still hesitate to delete this thread, in case somebody in the future has a similar issue and can benefit from the help that Norm did offer. Similarly, allowing a user to simply delete a thread after they've been helped disrupts the record of the forum, which defeats the whole point of using a forum in the first place.
But allowing a user to lock their own thread seems more reasonable. Feel free to ask JavaPF about it, he's the boss around here.
