Hello from Kansas
Hi Everyone
Java is kind of my hobby. I recently started a little open source hobby project - it's a program that monitors server status, and the people I had collaborating on the project kind of disappeared so I'm on my own ! Sometimes you just need some advice or an extra set of eyes, so here I am :) When this one is done I think I want to try my hand at game programming. It's something I've never done, so I'm kind of excited about it. Also sometime this year I want to try an Android ap. I think that would be cool :)
Nice to meet all of you, and hope I can give as much help as I get here!
Oh yes - I'm from Kansas, three kids, love video games and hot chocolate, and a wicked coffee habit so I have a tendency to haunt the internet late at night.

Re: Hello from Kansas
Welcome Angela,
Sounds like you're on a mission. I myself recently purchased an Andriod Phone and Have had a little play with apps. I'm looking to make it capable of connecting to my Laptop via BlueTooth or Wifi and then use it as a mouse device, for starters. Making use of it's gestures.
Also I have just decided to Dive into OpenGL programming with the LWJGL as my OpenGL Wrapper, as I learn I think I may be writing and publishing papers on my learing curve with OpenGL with the LWJGL. Plus, I am hoping to aquire an Xbox 360 Kinect in the near future, which some people may be aware that people have written windows drivers for, which I will wrap to Java using JNI. Once I have done this I will use Kinect to control my Java OpenGL Games.
On the Coffee Front, I just purchased a very nice coffee machine to fix my Coffee needs :)
I think you will fit right in here hehe, Welcome to Java Programming Forums.

Re: Hello from Kansas
Nice to meet you Freaky Chris ! i was just looking into lwjgl. I know a guy that does 3d models in Blender and I was trying to figure out how to incorporate them into a game. I never did quite come to an understanding of how it works, I think I need to start smaller :) I'm very interested in reading about your experiences with it - so be sure to post those.
