Hi all

First things first my names declan, I'm 21 and from the UK.
I don't really have a programming background at all but have always had an interest in it. I would like to start with java programming but am a bit stumped as I don't really know where to start.. Any sugestions would be welcomed along with any knowledge of java programming courses for beginners in the UK.

Spend a few minutes with your favorite search engine and keywords like "java tutorials for beginners". Play around with the search results and get a feel for the hello world program samples you see. Once you get the idea of what is going on, you will start to see some tutorials are easier to understand than others. Everyone has their own 'feel' for programming. Telling you which tutorials were good for me does not make them good for you. I suggest you find a few and run through them all at the same time. Find some with sample code and assignments, since seeing and working with the code is what it is all about.
