Hello everyone, I've decided to learn Java, but as I browsed the web people suggest to learn C before jumping into java. I want everyone's input on this; should I learn C or Java first? Suggestions are very welcome.

I would say to learn java first. Neither language is hard, but if you do not know how to program in any language yet, java is one that can more readily hold your hand. Java manages memory for you and has many libraries aimed at helping people learn to program not just learn java.

...as a second thought, if you have specific needs in mind, obviously choose which ever language suits those needs best, as there are big differences among the similarities of the two.

look i would suggest u takin up C before doin java. Simply because it is better to hav some proframming language knowledge before enterin into JAVA :o
