Hi everyone, I'm Tinfoil :O I actually don't mind giving out my real name but.... its really generic and thousands of people have the same first and last name as me so...yea.. just call me Tinfoil. I'm a high school junior that knows nothing about java beyond AP computer science I (got a 3 on the ap exam... T.T) Anyway, I came here because I hope I could learn more about programming. I want to be in this sort of field for my career but.... not sure how to continue; my school doesn't have a real big computer science program, so nobody has been able to give me advice. Oh, I also signed up because there are times when I want to bang my head against a wall for an error message.. they never stop D:
Nice to meet you. There are a couple of good places to start to learn about the basics of Java. You have "The Java Tutorial" which is a source driectly from the creators of Java i.e. formerly Sun Microsystems now Oracle. I have also been suggesting reading the book "Beginning Java Objects" second edition book. This deals with programming from an object modeling viewpoint. It might also be worth looking at the Deitel Series of books - Java: How To Program. Good luck in your studies and feel free to add me as a friend.
