Java Programmer Certification books
Hello guys
I'm thinking of preparing for the Java Certification (programmer) in the next few months (or maybe year). I'm currently reading Bruce Eckel's Thinking In Java. I would like to know what are the best books that are designed for the certification and the ones that have mock exams, exercises, tips and tricks etc.
Thanks

Hello hexwind,
Which certification are you studying for? OCJP?
There are so many good books out there. I know there is a lot of talk about the books by Kathy Sierra.
For example - OCP Java SE 6 Programmer Practice Exams (Exam 310-065): Exam 310-055
Do a search from within that link and you will find plenty more.
Re: Java Programmer Certification books
sorry to ask a question in your thread but are these certifications worth getting? like would they help you better at getting a job or will they only advance you in a current job? or is it just to know your skills for yourself?

I guess so. I always see job offers asking for a Java programmer/developer so I guess that it is worth getting. Also, the system of education here is quite bad. I failed one year in university so I won't have the right to study beyond my License (unless I pay a lot). So having certifications as an extra could kinda make it up for the masters or Engineering.
