Record audio from mic and head phone

Hi, im currently working on a project... i want to make a program that could record audio from mic and headphone... i was able to find out how to record audio from mic... but i don't know how to record audio from headphone or speaker... to be more specific i'm building a sort of ivr system for my school project... please help me...

Sounds like a hardware problem. Are there separate plug ins on the motherboard for mike and headphone?
Read the manual for your computer to see where the input plugins are. Also check the OS to be sure the inputs are not muted.
