New to Programming, Starting college for computer engineering
I am going to be start college in January for computer engineering. Well, I'll most likely be doing my gen eds first. I just picked up a book called Head First Java. I researched it and it seems like the best book to help me get a head start on learning how to program. I also picked up the Beginners programming with Java for Dummies book. If there are any other good books I can read let me know. I did C++ in high school like 8 years ago, but I forget most of it. I have wanted to go to school for this for sometime now but I am military so I have had a hard time finding a good school. I tried looking online but there are none. Well I look forward to learning how to program and talk to everyone on the forums.

Hello and welcome to the forums!
That's a book I mailed to my uncle. It seems pretty good for beginning. (I only skimmed through it)
I also picked up the Beginners programming with Java for Dummies book.
