What is this thread for exactly?

I had been wondering about my computer because every once in a while, a weird box will appear, often in different colors each time it happens, or vertical line will appear on the screen, and I can't get them to go away unless I restart the computer.

I think it's a graphics issue but am not sure what else beyond that.

This has nothing to do with any program I wrote though.

this is pretty late but have you sorted this problem out?

have you overclocked the graphics card lately? have you updated drivers from the time it started? usually its a heat issue or a bad/wrong driver that causes problems. when it happens do you hear any beeps?

if you already solved this could you post what you did to fix it?
