Re: Confused about my Career
Look around, I use java in Tridiums baja framework, to program AC units, if you want to code in java try looking in unorthodox places. My current boss loves me because I can do things faster than the other guys who are not trained programmers.
Re: Confused about my Career
If you can show a proven track record of logical thinking and programming experience then this will go a long way.
I would work on as many personal projects as possible to build up your skills in Java and create a portfolio of your work.
What type of Java job would you like to go for?
Re: Confused about my Career

Re: Confused about my Career
Do you have a BCS or MCS? If so try getting an internship with Google. They pay well and they love Java/C/C++ devs. I'm not saying that programming is about money, but you do need to live.

A lot of times projects don't come to you, rather you have to "invent" them yourself. For example, I like designing/implementing algorithms and data structures, so I pick something that looks interesting and take a go at it. However, it doesn't need to be this, you could create games or anything that interests you.
Re: Confused about my Career
@DanBrown how long have you programmed in Java or in general?
Re: Confused about my Career
@Brt93yoda
I had done BCA from ignou in 2007 and then MCA from Bharati Vidyapeeth University Pune ,(India) (2008-11).
From last 2 yrs , I am studying java . But not yet got chance to work in Java.
I had developed certain projects in java for enhancing my java skills , but not any professionally.
Thanks both of you for your concern.

Re: Confused about my Career
If you're a student earning their BS or MS then go here for an Internship.
If you're not a student then try here.
Since you have ~2 years of experience with Java I'm willing to let you join my open-source IDE project. I don't have money to pay you. but you can put the project on your Resume/CV. Contact me if you're interested.
