This morning I noticed a new favicon in a few of my browser bookmarks - the java favicon replaced by an Oracle favicon. Also noticed many of the sun microsystems pages now carry the Oracle name. Sort of old news, but any thoughts on if or how the takeover will effect Java in the near or long term future?
Oracle does have a lot of success in databases, and from what I've heard they are a fairly successful software company. I think that they will probably bring much needed funds to develop Java and other Sun products (seriously, looking through the changes for SE7 was slightly disappointing).
I dont think we will see much change in the near or long future of Java to be honest, there might be some improvements for support with oracle products seeing that a lot of oracles products are Java based as well :)
