Do you have the equations for computing the variance and standard deviation?
I don't see any comments in your code that shows the equations that you are trying to implement.

ive got the formula there where it says calculate var the standard deviation will work if the variance does but cant get variance to work correctly
Sorry I don't see any comments with formulas. There is code but no comments saying what the code is supposed to do and how it is going to do it.
